New North is currently seeking a motivated, web developer to join its team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working on the development of all digital needs as well as the deployment, testing, debugging and troubleshooting for our various projects. He/she will design, develop, maintain and optimize secure and scalable multi-tier digital applications.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Real-world experience with WordPress and PHP frameworks
• Excellent with PHP as an object-oriented language
• Experience with relational database design and development
• Ability to write functions, triggers and queries to MySQL
• Work with internal teams to develop front-end XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Ability to architect applications from requirement documents
• Understanding of browser-specific compatibility issues
• Management of GIT versioning repositories

DESIRED SKILLS

• Ability to consult with clients directly
• Experience with jQuery JavaScript library
• Understanding of REST and other APIs
• Understanding of Linux/Apache server setup and maintenance
